FAQ

Are the Chapman Hwy and Cedar Bluff locations the same store?

Yes! We have two store locations. Both store locations are the same ol' Rush's Music. You may contact either store with questions. Our South store location being significantly larger, carries a greater selection of products. Our West store staff are ready to help you.  Check out both locations. 

Do you rent band instruments to adults?

Unfortunately, no. We only rent to elementary, middle, and high school students. Rental demand is very high among the 90 schools we serve.

Do you rent guitars, basses, banjos, mandolins, etc. to performing artists and bands?

It depends! Give our south store a call (865) 573 - 4138 and check in. We'll have you fill out an application for consideration.

Do you have records or CD's?

Nope! We just have musical instruments and accessories. 

Do you teach lessons?

We offer practice room space to private instructors. Each instructor has their own rates. Reach out to one of our vetted teachers on the LESSONS page. 

Can you deliver to my child's school?

Most likely, yes! If your student needs accessories (e.g. reeds, books, valve oil, slide grease, etc.) reach out to the South store (865) 573 - 4138, and check to see when your road representative visits the school. We can take payment over the phone. Our road reps typically visit most schools once per week, with some exceptions. 

Do you have an online store?

No--we have two brick-and-mortar locations.

Can I teach private lessons at your store?

Please send an email to band@rushsmusic.com for consideration.

Do you purchase used instruments?

Yes! We typically purchase name brand instruments; otherwise, we can't get parts for them should we need to repair. Bring your instrument to the South store, and we'll take a look. 

Do you work on amps, keyboards, or pedals?

Unfortunately, no. 

What brands do you work on?

For brass and woodwind, we typically work on Yamaha, Getzen, King, Olds, Selmer, Bundy, Jupiter, Buffet, Gemeinhardt. For stringed instruments, our luthier will need to see your instrument, first. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please give the South store a call. We tend to work on brand name instruments because we can get parts for them and the metals are higher quality.

Can I purchase my rental horn?

Unfortunately, no. Our rental horns must stay in our rental program. However, we apply the first 9 months of your rent to the purchase of a new or used instrument. We have student, intermediate, and professional models available.
